Izetta Morris was born and raised in Alaska, and grew up in the village of Naknek, where she is a tribally enrolled member. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Management, as well as her Juris Doctorate in Law from the University of Arizona. Izetta’s past experience includes: commercial fishing, founding her own seafood processing and marketing business (Naknek Family Fisheries), and assisting others in business startup and governance. Izetta is proud of her many “firsts” – first family member to graduate from college, first female General Manager of Paug-Vik, Inc., Ltd., the village corporation for her hometown and first in her family to obtain a law degree. After finishing her legal studies, Izetta spent four years in Dillingham as the Marine Advisory Program Agent with the University of Alaska Fairbanks Sea Grant Program. Izetta currently serves as the Executive Director for the Pascua Yaqui Tribe Charitable Organization, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to serving the Pascua Yaqui communities in Arizona and Sonora, Mexico. She lives in Tucson, Arizona, with her three children – Lakota, Noah and Lovina.
